In the greater Cincinnati area, cancer patients and their families are fortunate to have several community groups eager to help cancer patients through their cancer journey and cope with their concerns and fears.
Cancer Support Community (CSC) is a not-for-profit organization that has provided social and emotional support for people with cancer and their families for more than 25 years. Services include:
Support groups- Healthy lifestyle classes
- Educational programs
- Social activities
- Distress screening assessments
- Community resource referrals and treatment decision support
CSC offers these services free of charge through professionally led support groups, educational workshops and presentations, healthy lifestyle programs, social activities, and programs specific to families and children. The programs and services are designed to complement conventional medical care, enhance quality of life, strengthen survivor care, improve the recovery, and facilitate better communication with medical teams. The CSC philosophy combines the will of the patient with the skill of the doctor – a powerful combination.
CSC is 100% privately funded through philanthropy, including generous individual donors, corporate partners, foundations and civic groups. All money donated stays in the Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky area to support the needs of our community. CSC is also supported by a large volunteer base, local hospitals, medical practices, like OHC, and other non-profit organizations that share similar philosophies.
