Typically, the earlier healthcare providers discover medical issues the better the outcomes for patients. In fact, some gynecologic cancers can be prevented or cured if treated early. To educate women about the importance of gynecologic cancer prevention, experts at OHC and Axia Women’s Health — Seven Hills will present Gyn & Tonic Ladies Night Out: Sips, Dips, & Tips on GYN Cancer Prevention on Wednesday, August 24, and Thursday, September 15.

Both free events will offer women an enjoyable laid-back atmosphere to have fun while learning about overall gynecologic health, the influence of genetics, and how to reduce the risk of cancer of the female organs. These include cervical, ovarian, uterine, vaginal, and vulvar cancers.

“Unfortunately, the mortality rate of uterine cancer has been on the rise, and we are seeing increasing incidences of both uterine and ovarian cancer in young women of childbearing age,” said Dené C. Wrenn, MD, MS, OHC gynecologic oncologist and one of the event panelists. “The information we’ll be sharing at these events is critical to helping women reduce their chances not only of gynecologic cancers, but other cancer types as well.”

Both events will provide women with an opportunity to mingle, shop local vendors, and enjoy light appetizers and beverages before participating in the interactive panelist discussion and Q&A. Registration is required. Following are details on both event opportunities:
