From OHC
September 16, 2013
Cancer care teams and patients on Cincinnati’s Westside will be coming together soon as construction moves quickly on the completion of our new, state-of-the-art OHC West office — conveniently located on Mercy Health’s new West Hospital campus.
The photos attached offer a glimpse of our progress. Although the bare walls and hard-working crew may look like we’re a long way off, nothing could be further from the truth.
As of today, we’re on target to begin seeing medical oncology, radiation oncology, and gynecological oncology patients before the end of October. We’ll update you every week on how we’re progressing, including confirmation of any changes to the schedule and, of course, more photos.
We hope you’re excited as we are about OHC West. The office — and most important, the people in it — are taking our mission to put patients first to a whole new level.
We’ll soon have a modern, high-tech facility from where all the treatment needs of our Mt. Airy, Rapid Run, and Western Hills patients can be met. No more long drives downtown or to Fairfield for radiation therapy treatments. No more trips to our Taft location for Westside patients with gynecological oncology needs.
But wait, there’s more!
OHC West will be staffed by as many as five medical providers including physicians and Advanced Practice Providers, with support from their care team colleagues. OHC West patients now will have more convenient hours to schedule appointments and on-site access to all of our Medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, and Gynecologic Oncology services.
They’ll also notice the little extras that should make their treatment more comfortable; like easier access to more door-front parking, new chairs, wall art selected by patients, an ice machine, and blanket warmers. Some of our treatment chairs will even have cubbies in which to place your personal items.
As said by Cathy King, OHC Regional Site Director, “It’s a big change for our patients who have been coming to us for a long time. But they’re going to be wowed. They’re going to see our ‘patients first’ mission come alive. We truly did this for them.”
So don’t be shy about reminding your fellow Westside patients and neighbors about our move. You can LIKE, COMMENT, or SHARE the news by clicking on one of the OHC social media icons below.
In the meantime, stay tuned to this blog. We’ll be updating you weekly with photos and more information. And we’ll shed more light on our grand opening and enhanced services.
