Kristen Brady is an Advanced Practice Provider with OHC who enjoys the opportunity to combine science and compassion to create a comprehensive plan of attack. Kristen says it’s a privilege to care for patients, especially those with complex diagnoses, because she uses science to fight their disease while offering genuine support. She has completed additional training in supportive care to enhance her skills in patient care. Her areas of special interest include blood cancers and stem cell transplants. In her free time, Kristen enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking and skiing.

Magen Brailey, MPAS, PA-C, is an advanced practice provider with OHC. She was drawn to the field of oncology after witnessing a loved one’s battle with cancer and working as a patient care assistant in a hematology/oncology/bone marrow transplant hospital unit. She conducted undergraduate research in oncology and transplant sciences. “I am most passionate about ensuring patients and their families understand their disease process and treatment options while having a sense of respect, support, and compassion during their healing journey. Practicing medicine is attending to both the emotional and physical health of the patient.”

When Magen is not seeing patients, you can find her running with her dog or training for her next race.

Stacey Brock, MSN, APRN is an advanced practice provider with OHC. Starting her nursing career in oncology, she has remained in the field because of her patients, stating “they are amazing, resilient people, who never take life for granted.”

Stacey’s areas of interest include leukemia, lymphoma, and breast cancer. Her approach to patient care starts with empowering patients and building a strong foundation of trust. “I want them to know I am there for them and will do whatever I can to make them feel comfortable. I want to help each patient fully understand their treatment options and put them at the center of their own care.”

Stacey enjoys spending time with her family, especially attending her kids’ various sporting activities, as well as traveling to other countries together.

Elizabeth Burneka is an Advanced Practice Provider who feels privileged to support patients through what is likely one of the toughest times in their lives. Liz helps them navigate through each day, and wants them to live life to the fullest during and after their treatment. Her areas of special interest include breast cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer. In her free time, Liz likes to spend time with family and enjoys crafting projects.  

Tiffany Jones’ career as a nurse began in a hospital intensive care unit. In this setting, she cared for many critically ill cancer patients. This experience inspired Tiffany to dedicate her advanced practice career to providing safe and high-quality health care to cancer patients in the community setting. Every day she experiences the rewards of her choice to care for cancer patients. Tiffany’s areas of special interest include medical oncology, care for patients in clinical trials, and palliative care. In her free time, she enjoys caring for toddler twins, cooking, gardening and kayaking.

Becky Jung, MSN, APRN, is an advanced practice provider with OHC. Becky was drawn to the field of oncology for its complexity in diagnosing and treating patients. “It’s an ever-changing field with new and more targetable treatments to help cancer patients survive with excellent quality of life,” said Becky.

Becky’s special areas of interest include malignant hematology and bone marrow transplant. When describing her patient care philosophy, she states, “To build trust with patients, I always try to find at least one thing I have in common with them that we can discuss routinely.”

Becky enjoys spending time with her family traveling, hiking national parks, and attending sporting events.

Hannah Kolish started her nursing career in oncology because she loves the bond she develops with her patients. She also loves learning about new advancements in cancer research and treatment because she knows it ultimately benefits her patients, giving them new options and hope. Hannah enjoys all aspects of cancer care, especially the provider-patient relationship. In her free time, she likes to run, travel, and spend time with her friends and family.

Prior to starting nursing school, Kristina Liming learned a close family member was diagnosed with breast cancer. Kristina accompanied her to many appointments, and was inspired by the interaction between her relative and the providers. Kristina noticed that as the providers were treating her for her cancer, they also seemed to genuinely care about her as a person. It was then that Kristina knew she wanted to work in cancer care and be a part of that type of care team. Now a member of the OHC care team, her areas of special interest are lung cancer, breast cancer, and she is a lead advanced practice provider of the OHC Supportive Care Program. In her free time, Kristina enjoys soccer, trips to the ocean, boating, reading, entertaining friends and family.

Amanda Little, MSN, APRN, is an advanced practice provider with OHC whose interests include hematology, survivorship, and bone marrow transplant.  She was drawn to the field of oncology because she wanted a career “where I felt like what I did made a difference.  I meet patients and their families at what is often one of the scariest times of their lives.  I want to help alleviate some of their fears through education.”

Amanda’s philosophy of patient care is simple, “I spend time listening to my patient and their family.  I try to identify their needs and concerns so we can work together to develop a personalized plan.”

Amanda enjoys spending time with her children, going to live theater shows, golfing, and baking.

Sarah Mancini first experienced cancer when her grandmother passed away from multiple myeloma. As she moved into adult life, several other family members and friends were diagnosed with cancer. Sarah wondered how she could have helped her family members and others during their fight with cancer. She felt that becoming an oncology nurse was the best way to do just that. When she graduated from college, she knew oncology was the only field she wanted to be a part of. Sarah’s special interests include lung cancer, colon cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar, movies, live concerts, hockey games (she’s a Pittsburgh Penguins fan), travel and spending time with family in Cincinnati and Pittsburgh.

Lindsey Miller, DNP, APRN, is an advanced practice provider with OHC who specializes in breast cancer and supportive care. Lindsey always knew she wanted to work in healthcare and selected the field of oncology because it is changing at a rapid pace. “The treatment options available are saving lives. I wanted to work in a field that enabled me to give patients hope.”

Focused on the individual needs of every patient, Lindsey is careful to listen to her patients’ concerns and places special emphasis on making sure they understand their diagnoses and plan of care. “I strive to provide clear communication and I encourage patients to ask questions. If I am unable to answer them, I will find someone who can.”

In her free time, Lindsey enjoys boating and she has established a goal to read 50 books in one year.

Kim Mullins was drawn to oncology because it is a specialty that encourages spending time with patients and families to get to know their needs and concerns. She acknowledges that her colleagues at OHC truly work as a team to provide the best care for patients. She is personally committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care to help patients journey through a vulnerable time in their life. Kim’s areas of special interest include breast cancer treatment and survivorship. In her free time, Kim likes to spend time with her family, train her horse, and exercise.

As a former trauma nurse in an intensive care unit, Lisa was recruited to work in the hospital’s oncology department for procedures. It was during this time that Lisa discovered a passion for caring for medical oncology and hematology patients. She was especially drawn to direct patient care after seeing family members and friends who battled cancer. Lisa’s areas of special interest include hematology, holistic therapies, and supportive care. Lisa is also a lead advanced practice provider for the OHC Supportive Care Program. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, tending her small flock of chickens, Girl Scouts, spending time with family and a close-knit group of friends she has had for many years.

Connie Rudy’s areas of interest include interventional radiology in the treatment of liver cancer and supporting patients through their cancer diagnosis. She has completed additional training in supportive care to enhance her skills in patient care.

“At OHC, we’re passionate about patient care,” said Connie. “I appreciate the trust that patients and their families put in our hands as we care for them. Their gratitude for the positive impact we have on their lives continues to motivate us each day to surround them with compassion and excellent care.”

When she is not working with patients, Connie enjoys attending her children’s sporting events, gardening, and running.

Tracy Schoenhoft’s first experience in cancer care was when a family member was receiving chemotherapy and had a bone marrow transplant. Tracy witnessed firsthand the impact the medical team can have on a patient and everyone who is part of their support system. She realized that the care provided to an oncology patient is quite complex; that it goes far beyond just the medical care, and she knew she wanted to provide cancer patients with the same comprehensive care – medical, physical, emotional. Tracy’s special interests include leukemia and bone marrow transplantation. In her free time, Tracy enjoys traveling, spending time with family, cycling, running, and walking with her dog, Schmidt.

Emily (Emma) Shaffer, MPAS, PA-C, is an advanced practice provider with OHC. She was drawn to the field of oncology after acting as an end-of-life caregiver for her grandparents who suffered from terminal cancer. “I saw how impactful those clinicians were and I knew that was the path for me.”

Emma believes in approaching her patients as an active listener, focusing on providing compassion, patience, and understanding. When describing her patient care philosophy she states, “making my patients feel valued and appreciated is essential.”

When Emma is not seeing patients, she enjoys exercising with her mom at Pure Barre and spending time with her family.

Elizabeth “Libby” Sorosiak, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is an advanced practice provider with OHC who was always drawn to a career as a caregiver. Libby has prior experience working with developmentally disabled adults and nursing in interventional radiology with many cancer patients. Libby places special emphasis on developing close relationships with her patients. “Supportive care is my passion. My goal is to support my patients and their families completely. I love to laugh with my patients and put them at ease.”

In her free time, Libby enjoys music, art, and exercise.

Megan Stout, MSN, APRN, an advanced practice provider with OHC, has a special interest in research and supportive care. Megan has personal experience caring for family members with cancer and cared for many cancer patients as an emergency room nurse. She brings a deep sense of empathy and compassion to her practice. “I hope I can make a difference in someone’s life during what is a most difficult time. While giving patients the science behind their diagnosis and treatment options, I’m not afraid to show emotion, hold their hands, and give them hugs.”

Megan was drawn to the field of oncology because it lends itself to building relationships with patients. “My role allows for continuity of care with patients. We work together as we carry out a plan of care that works best for the patient and their family.”

When she is not serving patients at OHC, Megan enjoys exploring new experiences around the city with her spouse, young daughter, and Labrador retriever.

During her freshman year in nursing school, Laura Weldishofer’s aunt was diagnosed with metastatic colorectal cancer. She was deeply moved by the relationship her aunt developed with the oncology nurses who cared for her. It was this experience that inspired Laura to specialize in oncology. Her special interests include head and neck cancer, nutrition, and treatment outcomes. She has completed additional training in supportive care to enhance her skills in patient care. In her free time, Laura is a Cantor at her church and has been known to sing to her patients while they receive their treatments. She also enjoys the outdoors, hiking, national parks and spending time with her daughter.
