Ajit Gubbi, DO, FACOOG, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in radical debulking surgery, minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and comprehensive educational, emotional and spiritual support for patients. Dr. Gubbi grew up in a family of mechanical and civil engineers and computer scientists. His father would take him to work and show him blue prints and designs, but Dr. Gubbi fell in love with the art, science, drama, passion, and perseverance of medicine.

Dr. Gubbi began his medical career as an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). While in New York, he met gynecologic oncologists at Good Samaritan Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering. After being exposed to gynecologic oncology, he developed a passion for a new level of patient care as a gynecologic oncologist. It was mastery in surgery, mastery in oncology, and mastery in the understanding of physiology. More than that, it was mastery in caring and compassion for patients at a most difficult time in their lives. “The determination and appreciation that I see in my patients are the reasons that I love and pursued gynecologic oncology,” said Dr. Gubbi.

Dr. Gubbi’s spare time is family time. He and his wife have two young girls and they love to dance, swim, play soccer, and traveling. As a family, they watch Chopped and American Ninja Warrior, and create their own family cooking competitions and obstacle courses.
