Ajit Gubbi, DO, FACOOG, is a gynecologic oncologist who specializes in radical debulking surgery, minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and comprehensive educational, emotional and spiritual support for patients. Dr. Gubbi grew up in a family of mechanical and civil engineers and computer scientists. His father would take him to work and show him blue prints and designs, but Dr. Gubbi fell in love with the art, science, drama, passion, and perseverance of medicine.
Dr. Gubbi began his medical career as an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN). While in New York, he met gynecologic oncologists at Good Samaritan Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering. After being exposed to gynecologic oncology, he developed a passion for a new level of patient care as a gynecologic oncologist. It was mastery in surgery, mastery in oncology, and mastery in the understanding of physiology. More than that, it was mastery in caring and compassion for patients at a most difficult time in their lives. “The determination and appreciation that I see in my patients are the reasons that I love and pursued gynecologic oncology,” said Dr. Gubbi.
Dr. Gubbi’s spare time is family time. He and his wife have two young girls and they love to dance, swim, play soccer, and traveling. As a family, they watch Chopped and American Ninja Warrior, and create their own family cooking competitions and obstacle courses.

Dr. Gubbi has been so great through my process at OHC. He listens to my concerns and provides information in a way my husband and I can understand. He has been kind and helpful and I am thankful for him and his team at OHC. – D.S., July 2022
I was sent to Dr. Gubbi after what I thought was belly weight gain turned out to be a huge mass growing from my ovary. He is a straight shooter. He told me exactly what was going on and what he had to do to fix it which was a bit overwhelming to me...but at the same time there is a calm in his eyes and voice that let me know that I was going to be just fine. And I was. By the grace of God that huge mass turned out to be benign. But even if it had been cancer I know that I would have been getting the best and most compassionate care around. I am blessed to have landed in his care. – L.C., July 2022
Dr. Gubbi is a wonderful physician & human being. He has a calming presence about him. He is professional & extremely knowledgeable. He’s very easy to talk to. He always asks if you have questions or concerns. If Dr. Gubbi taught a course on Bedside Manners 101, physicians & patients alike would benefit! – B.G., June 2022
