Courtney L. Hentz, MD, is a radiation oncologist with a focus on lung, brain, breast, and gynecologic cancers, lymphomas, and sarcomas. Dr. Hentz chose this field because it allows her to walk with patients every step of the cancer journey—from diagnosis through survivorship. “I cannot think of a more rewarding career than cancer care,” said Dr. Hentz. “Having the privilege to care for cancer patients during one of their most vulnerable and challenging times is something special.”

Dr. Hentz enjoys collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of cancer specialists and working with her radiation oncology team to offer patients the best treatment outcomes. “Radiation oncology requires a team approach—radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and doctors, among others—to create a treatment plan that is specific to each patient,” said Dr. Hentz. “I avoid a one-size-fits-all approach to treating my patients and enjoy working with my colleagues to develop a personalized plan for every individual in my care. Staying current on the latest technologies and research available is equally important in delivering superior care to my patients.”

During her free time, Dr. Hentz stays active by spending time with her family chasing around her young son, cheering on her alma mater’s Bearcats, and enjoying the beautiful running and hiking trails around Cincinnati.
