David Pratt, MD, is a radiation oncologist who serves as the co-medical director of the Gamma Knife program at The Jewish Hospital – Mercy Health. His specialties include lung cancer, brain tumors, stereotactic radiosurgery and Gamma Knife radiosurgery. Dr. Pratt decided to specialize in radiation oncology during his third year of medical school when his father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Radiation therapy was one of his father’s treatment options. “At the time, I knew nothing about this treatment. As I explored the field, I was drawn to the blend of advanced medical technology and a high level of patient care and interaction.”
Dr. David Pratt teaches his patients about their illness and helps them navigate and understand the many tests performed as a part of their treatment. “I have compassion for our patients and their families and the situation they’re in. I give them plenty of time to ask questions and strive to address their concerns as best as possible.”
When he’s not working, Dr. Pratt enjoys spending time with his family, working with a varsity scout team, and coaching basketball and soccer.

Great people, every one of them, so very kind and gentle! Great physicians with more-than-adequate explanations! I couldn't possibly think of any single complaint, even if I tried. Great experience totally! – J.E., September 2021
Dr. Pratt did a very good job describing the current situation with my cancer, and explained his plan for treatment. He spent a long time with us, and treated us like friends, not just patients. – D.B., September 2021
