OHC Doctors: Lisa Ovesen, MSN, APRN, FNP

Lisa Ovesen, MSN, APRN, FNP, is an advanced practice provider at OHC.  As a former trauma nurse in an intensive care unit, Lisa was recruited to work in the hospital’s oncology department for procedures. It was during this time that Lisa discovered a passion for caring for medical oncology and hematology patients. She was especially drawn to direct patient care after seeing family members and friends who battled cancer. Lisa’s areas of special interest include hematology, holistic therapies, supportive care, and palliative care. Lisa is a co-lead for the OHC Supportive Care Program and has received specialty training in palliative care.

Lisa approaches patient care with empathy and compassion. “I hope that I can provide the type of care that I would want my family members to receive. I am very transparent with my patients about their care, and I feel very strongly about shared decision making,” adds Lisa. After working at OHC for over 10 years, Lisa believes OHC provides the highest possible quality care to our patients and their families.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, gardening, tending her small flock of chickens, Girl Scouts, and spending time with family and a close-knit group of friends she has had for many years.
