Patrick J. Ward, MD, PhD, is a medical oncologist and hematologist who specializes in breast cancer, thoracic malignancies, and cancer research. Dr. Ward is an integral member of the OHC collaboration with Sarah Cannon Research Institute, or SCRI, and serves as the OHC Director of Cancer Research & Clinical Trials Program, SCRI at OHC, as well as holding positions on the SCRI Research Advisory Board, SCRI Lung Cancer Executive Committee, and SCRI IECT Executive Committee. He is also the OHC principal investigator for thoracic malignant clinical trials.
Dr. Ward’s passion for research makes a difference in the lives of his cancer patients. “I hope to convey to my patients that they are being treated by someone who is knowledgeable about the most recent advancements in cancer treatments and research. I want to give them every opportunity to participate in their care decisions with the guidance and support from all members of our cancer care team – medical, radiation, and gynecologic experts, our research team, and our team members who help them navigate through their cancer therapy, provide emotional support, and help with financial needs.”
When he’s not working, Dr. Ward likes to spend time with his family, travel, and pursue his interest in soccer and craft beer.
