Stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) is a type of external radiation therapy (not surgery) that OHC doctors use to position a patient and precisely administer a single large dose of radiation to a tumor. It is used to treat brain tumors and other brain disorders that cannot be treated by regular surgery.
SRS is also called radiation surgery and radiosurgery and is similar to stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). The difference lies in the intensity and duration of the radiation treatments.
OHC is the only group of cancer doctors in the region who provide Cyberknife and Gamma Knife treatment (two types of SRS) for cancer patients.
